Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3842512.
Someone sped through the speed camera in a closed lane, then cut me up, the speed camera started flashing them. But then it started to flashing everyone going the correct speed. This was on 22/09/2022 around 19:47-19:53. It was like being at a nightclub, please can we have an update on when this will be fixed, and also will we being getting fines for going the correct speed!!

Thank you for your report concerning speed cameras on the M27.
The M27 between junctions 4 and 11 has recently been upgraded to an all-lanes running smart motorway and includes several HADECS speed/Red X enforcement cameras, new to this section of motorway. These cameras are now operational and the HADECS camera supplier has advised that the cameras are working as expected and that they are detecting speeding violations and Red X violations when variable speed limits and lane closures are respectively set. HADECS enforces the speed limit displayed on associated ‘red ring’ signals at the time across multiple lanes. If the signals are not displaying a speed limit, then HADECS enforces the National Speed Limit. There are built-in safe-guards which pre¬vent the cam¬era from acti¬vat¬ing if there is a crit¬i¬cal fault, for exam¬ple with the AMI sig¬nal show¬ing the speed limit. The sys¬tem is designed to ensure that it will only cap¬ture an offence when the equip¬ment is work¬ing cor¬rectly; this is a require¬ment of HOTA. I can confirm that only speeding motorists and red X offenders will be prosecuted.

Speed cameras between jct 9-11 on the M27 are faulty. The randomly flash and have activated between 05.00 and 06.00 so be careful. They will also pick a vehicle to flash when other drivers are in fact driving over the 70mph limit. They are NOT consistent, activating one day and then not for several.
