Traffic light timing
Reported via mobile in the Traffic lights (NH) category anonymously at 22:21, Wed 21 September 2022
Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3840138.
The timing of the lights at West Drive / Amounderness Way is awful. Turning right into West Drive from Fleetwood at busy times is difficult as the lights only allow 4-5 cars through. This is even more frustrating when you can see other junctions have a green light showing without any traffic present. The issue has been present for 2 years+. Can sensors not be used on the lights to maximise efficiency?

Thank you for contacting us on Wednesday 21 September. You may have noticed that we have recently increased the size of the roundabout at Skippool to allow for a larger working area, so we can safely construct the new junction within the roundabout. We also have outer works in the verges to complete. We understand that changes to the road layout on the approach to Skippool roundabout are causing frustration and apologise for the inconvenience that this has caused you. Due to limited room at the junction of Skippool roundabout and Mains Lane, it is currently unsafe to run traffic on two lanes. We are working hard to complete surfacing in the north and south verges and are exploring all options to safely widen the road as soon as we possibly can.
In addition, our maintenance team is inspecting the traffic loops at Shard junction to see if improvements to the flow of traffic can be made at this location. We will continue to keep you updated as works progress.

You've got this response wrong. Different location that this reporter is referring to, check out the map. I get that a lot of people are complaining about Shard Lane/Mains Lane but if you could just expedite the issues then folk won't complain and you won't be shown to be inept. Just saying....
