Traffic lights at Hollingworth causing back uo of traffic.

Reported via mobile in the Traffic lights (NH) category anonymously at 08:51, Tue 13 September 2022

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3821244.

I travelled from Barnsley towards Manchester yesterday on the A628. I started to queue in traffic in the countryside miles from Tintwistle at 10.30am. This queue moved very slowly through Tintwistle and onto Hollingworth. The only reason I could see for this issue was the volume of traffic being held up by traffic lights where the Glossop road joins in Hollingworth. I queued for an hour because the traffic lights only allowed approx 6 vehicles through before they changed to red. This is a usual area for a bottle neck of traffic, however this situation has worsened and needs some attention and monitoring to improve this issue. Thankyou
