Subsidence in road surface, inside lane

• Thank you for your report concerning a depression in the M4 near Junction 15.

  We’re aware of this issue. Currently we're organising funds to repair the road surface, so we don't have a planned closure yet, but rest assured that we are in the process of fixing the problem.

• This depression in Lane 1 is in URGENT need of repair before there is a serious accident if there hasn't already been one. This morning I was behind a two trailer artic and this depression caused the second trailer to go VERY unstable and driver nearly lost control! Artics and other trucks rock violently when they hit the depression. I would go so far as to say the lane should be CLOSED until it is repaired. Finding funding to repair this shouldn't be in question as it is extremely dangerous for a motorway!

• Fuming. As of the 4th of October there is still a serious amount of subsidence on the outer left side of the road (1st lane). It is easily 30 yards. Rocked my 4x4 and narrowly avoided mounting the hard shoulder. Gave the suspension a real groan.

  Went to use the car this morning to find that my front left tyre either is damaged or the alloy has been split (too dark outside to check) as it's flat.

  I'd be less annoyed if I hadn't seen that this was due for repairs in August. If a lorry hits this whilst there's heavy downpour they will aquaplane and tip their truck. Close this lane.

  Expect an invoice for repairs if it is damaged, this truly is neglectful of people's safety. I expected better from National Highways, you usually are exceptional at repairs.
