On 7/9/22 a vehicle exited the M606 via the entry to the southbound section of the motorway

It is obvious that the vehicle has "missed" the correct exit point and thought fit to take the next point of exit which was an entry. Could you examine ways of preventing such potentially catastrophic actions and, in the process of so-doing, examine ways to prevent speeding, utter recklessness on this motorway which your own officers have labelled a "drag strip". Thank you.

Dear Sir or Madam
Thank you for contacting us by Fix My Street on 14 September about the issues you’ve observed with driver behaviour at junction 2 of the M606.
We appreciate bringing this incident to our attention. Following your feedback, we’ve reviewed the injury collision data for the junction for the 5-year period 2016-2021. While this hasn’t revealed a notable injury collision record at the junction, we’ll consider what could be done to reduce the likelihood of a reoccurrence of this incident. This will include a review of the condition of the existing signing on the junction which is designed to provide drivers with direction.
On the issue of speeding, we work alongside the Police and the West Yorkshire Casualty Prevention Partnership to identify and address the worst casualty hotspots on our network. A section of the southbound M606 carriageway is subject to a 50mph speed limit restriction and enforcement of this restriction is already taking place. More details on this Partnership and the work it undertakes in West Yorkshire can be found at the following location: www.safetycameraswestyorkshire.co.uk.
Thank you again for contacting us. If there is anything we can help you with, please email or telephone our Contact Centre. They’re available 24 hours a day by phone: 0300 123 5000 or by email info@nationalhighways.co.uk. Alternatively, please visit the National Highways website at nationalhighways.co.uk.
Kind regards
National Highways
