Fence falling down A31 Eastbound 50 metres from the Rufus Stone turning

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3819289.

Ponies have escaped on to the A31 carrigeway, the fence is leaning right over and is almost on the ground.

A31 eastbound from Stoney Cross, approx 50metres from the Rufus Stone junction. We have tried to prop it up but it needs urgent attention please

  • Thank you for your report concerning a broken fence on the A31.

    We’re aware of the damage to this fencing. The New Forest authorities have installed a temporary fix to make the area safe, and we have this section of fencing scheduled for permanent repair as part of a wider fence repair programme along this road.
