Steps in poor condition

The steps on the footbridge over the A1 are suffering from section loss and the surfacing is uneven and mounding.

  • Thank you for your report concerning the steps on the footbridge.

    Our inspector visited the location and agrees that work is needed to ensure the safety of the pedestrians using this footbridge

    As such we have decided to close the west stairway while we look into a remedy for the situation. The west ramp will still be available for use while the steps are closed
