Unreasonable delay in changing to red for pedestrians crossing East to West

When crossing from South East to North West the time taken to change from green to red for pedestrians is excessive. This can take up to two minutes. This causes frustration and many pedestrians are "chancing it" by crossing the live carriageway rather than wait. However, in the opposite direction, the time can be as short as 10 seconds from pressing the button to the lights changing to red. Can this be addressed asap to avoid someone becoming yet another statistic please?

In Greater Manchester responsibility for traffic signals is divided between National Highways and Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) depending on the location on the network.
