Pedestrian crossing lights faulty at A46 junction with Vale Park, Evesham

Reported via desktop in the Traffic lights (NH) category anonymously at 14:38, Fri 2 September 2022

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3798139.

The lights controlling the pedestrian crossing just north of the A46/The Link/Vale Park, Evesham are going red to traffic approxiumately every 30 seconds without anyone being there to press the button. It seems as if the button is stuck, and therefore triggering a light change at the shortest possible interval, over and over again. As a result there are already lengthy tailbacks, and this is likely to get worse by rush hour if not fixed rapidly!

Updates

  • Still broken and causing a backlog of traffic at busy times as only a few cars can get through each time the lights turn to green. Traffic will be bad if not fixed before the children go back to school in a few days time

  • This is still a problem

  • Sunday 4th September - the problem still exists already congested traffic routes are being made much worse as tailbacks not just on the bypass (A46) but into residential areas as well as crossing major road traffic islands - Monday will be EVIL and thee is no alternative route as the town conjestion continues to be problematic. BEST OF LUCK!
