Concrete cancer

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3792914.

For a number of years we have tried to contact Highways to inform them of this fissure in the concrete wall of the bridge on Woodbank Lane, a large area towards the top of the left hand side of west facing end of the bridge has crumbled leaving a fissure which now gathers water and the wall itself is starting to bulge I imagine from the rusting of the reinforced metal rods.

  • Well this degrading concrete that is not causing any safety issues has been attended yesterday 16/5/23, by a group of highway officials and the bluge has been highlighted with orange cross hatching. Does this mean that something is going to happen?
