Dangerous lack of road markings

Reported via iOS in the Road markings (NH) category anonymously at 09:54, Wed 31 August 2022

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3792070.

All traffic markings at this junction worn out and arrows not visible causing confusion to motorists trying to turn right from both directions onto A27. ‘ no road marking’ ‘ boards have been out for over 2 years but no sign of any repainting. This is a very busy junction in use 24/7 - it has been reported many times before but still no response !

  • The road marking are so faint no one can see them to ensure traffic flows safely. Locals know where to position their cars, but nonlocals do not have that knowledge and there has been so many near missis, and emergency action taken to avoid a crash. A a major road in Sussex why has it not be sorted yet? When will it get done?

  • According to National Highways the road will be resurfaced in January 2023 and markings repainted then. This has been left in this unsafe state for over 2 years, surely some temporary repainting could have been done in this time !!!
