Traffic jumping red lights

Reported via mobile in the Traffic lights (NH) category anonymously at 12:44, Sun 28 August 2022

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3785977.

Dear Highways England, I just simply wanted to report that these traffic lights desperately need cameras to deter vehicles jumping red lights. I cross here every day and it is very regular. Today I nearly was hit by a car jumping light travelling eastward at about 50 mph. 2 vans jumped red lights, I followed by an audi 2 seconds later. There is also a problem crossing northward as vehicles stop on hatched lines and over pedestrian crossing, so when green man is visible it is dangerous to cross. Due to excess traffic, pedestrians have no option but to walk around vehicles to cross. Vehicles move off with traffic. It is dangerous crossing. Ps the red light jumping is by far the worse situation though. I had to jump back to the kerb today. Thanks and really appreciate if you can take this seriously. Thanks and kind regards, Kevin
