A27 on the Chichester bound carriageway. Approximately 200m from Lyon’s farm traffic lights. Loose manhole cover, frame OK visually. Appears to be a poor fit or broken as noisy

Loose manhole. Relatively new, around 2 months. It’s noisy and also loose. Possibly Openreach but not confirmed

  • Man hole cover moving significantly under weight of moving cars, worryingly when lorries pass. Tarmac/ground around manhole cover also moving and sunk. Noise is as loud as a cattle grid

  • Also creating a hazard to users of the adjacent crossing point. Deafening to try to cross and confusing with approaching vehicles swerving and dipping - looks like flashing headlights to allow people to cross
