Diversion signs take you no where

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3759134.

When I was trying to travel after 9pm from Portsmouth to Southampton the slip road onto the m27 was shut. I followed the diversion signs to the next roundabout which told me to go right the way back round back down the m275 in the other direction. Then the sign takes you off at the next roundabout and all the way back round again. I must have done this about 5 times very confused and wasted lots of petrol before trying to find my own way around. It wasn't just me either I saw others doing the same thing. What should have been a 25 minute journey took me about 2 hours and 30 mins.

  • Thank you for your report concerning a circular diversion route on the M27.

    I can confirm that these roadworks have since been completed and the diversion removed. Your complaint has been passed onto the contractors and we are looking into how this happened so we can avoid repeating the incident in the future.
