Lack of road markings on A1M junction 8 southbound entry

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3751155.

No arrow indicating 2 lanes are moving into one on the slip road. Dangerous and has caused two 'near miss' accidents twice whilst I have been driving there.

  • Thank you for contacting National Highways about a lack of road markings on the A1(M) J8 southbound entry.

    We’re currently renewing the road markings and resurfacing the slip roads on the A1(M) between junctions 6 and 9. All of the work is due to be completed in October, so you should see an improvement in safety and driver behaviour then.

    Our local inspector for the A1(M) also monitors the route regularly for safety issues and defects.
