M27 just past junction 5 on the new smart motor way section until junction 7. When driving East bound on this section of the motor way yesterday-09.08.22-it was almost impossible to see the white road markings that separate the four lanes. When the sun shines on them they vanish. It makes driving extremely difficult, as you are concentrating more on the road markings to prevent crossing over into another lane without realizing it. Please can they be made obvious for all drivers who use this section of M27. It has the potential to be problematic for drivers.

Thank you for your report concerning faded road markings on the M27.
We’re aware of the surfacing and road marking issues in this area. We've arranged for the stretch of road between junctions 5 and 7 to be resurfaced and re-marked as required. Due to a high volume of work that needs to be completed, it's likely that these works won't be undertaken until Spring 2023, however they may be moved up if this issue proves to be a danger to road users.
Kind regards
National Highways

How can not seeing lane marking not be a danger to road users. I completely agree with the comments above. I've had issues one 3 different occasions on this exact bit of road . It's an horrific accident waiting to happen. And it's scary if other road users see not to know where the markings are either
