Sunken drain covers upper b’ton road Sompting

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3739928.

Several sunken drain covers left hand side near pavement. Some have broken road surface surrounding them causing severe crashing on tyres when driving along. Stretch of road from Lancing foot bridge to Berriedale Drive Sompting. There is also a loose drain cover opposite the junction at the north end of Berriedale Drive Sompting that is hit by cars causing a clattering noise.

Updates

  • Thank you for your report concerning sunken drain covers between the footbridge and Berriedale Drive. We're aware of the condition of the carriageway and a resurfacing scheme is in our programme for January 2023.

    Regarding the manhole cover at Berriedale Drive, this cover belongs to Southern Water. We've reported it to them for investigation and repairs.
