Chevrons badly worn

Reported via desktop in the Road markings (NH) category anonymously at 14:02, Sun 7 August 2022

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3736432.

Junction 5 exit M2 eastbound where traffic merges at the roundabout with traffic heading northbound on the A249 merge the chevrons which keeps the two lanes separate are badly worn. On Friday nearly had coming together with vehicle which crossed the chevrons into our lane. I was fortunate it wasn't a 10 ton lorry that didn't realise which lane they should be in. Needs to be urgently addressed before bad accident.

Updates

  • Very well said, although I don’t hold out much hope you’ll see any improvement. Let’s face it, the hole network of roads is decrepit, dirty, badly maintained and neglected. When did you ever see someone washing road signs, litter picking or freshening up white lines. No, never, it doesn’t happen. There’s debris and litter on the central reservation of the M25 which has been there since the day it was opened.
