Dangerous incorrect road markings

Reported via desktop in the Sign issue (NH) category anonymously at 09:05, Sat 6 August 2022

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3734542.

Inside lanes labelled incorrectly. Inside lane labelled as M27 but actually leads round the roundabout. Traffic have to change lanes last minute, and have forced infront of people who are unaware. Second from inside lane actually leads to A27 & M27 labelled as A27. So is not currently being used. Has been an issue for 2 weeks.

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting National Highways regarding incorrect road markings on the M27.

Currently this roundabout is undergoing a series of improvements managed by Hampshire County Council, therefore they currently have ownership over this road. I've included a link to the M27 Improvements information page of their website below. https://www.hants.gov.uk/ transport/ transportschemes/ m27junction9

It's likely that these markings will be reviewed and changed to suit the new roundabout layout as part of the scheme, however if you wish to raise your concerns with Hampshire County Council, you can contact them at the below link. https://www.hants.gov.uk/ transport/ roadmaintenance/ roadproblems

    Kind regards,

    National Highways
