Junction 32 on M6 and Junction 1 on M55

Reported via mobile in the Street lighting (NH) category anonymously at 23:06, Fri 5 August 2022

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3734333.

The slip road at junction 32 on the M6 leading to the M55 has lighting fitted but none of it is working. All around Junction 1 on the M55 seems to have more broken lighting than working. As this is a busy junction it would be much safer having the lighting working.

Updates

  • Thank you for your report concerning lighting outages on the slip from the M6 to the M55.

We don't currently have work planned in the area. This issue will be address during our RIS3 programme which commences April 2025 and concludes March 2030.

As part of our commitment to reduce carbon in line with government targets all lighting schemes will be appraised in line with current policy. This may result in sections of lighting no longer being justifiably beneficial.

Currently this area isn’t causing any safety concerns. We will continue to monitor this.

    We hope this information helps.

    Kind regards

    National Highways
