Clump of highly toxic Giant Hogweed in central reservation

Reported via mobile in the Vegetation (grass/hedges/trees) (NH) category anonymously at 17:31, Fri 29 July 2022

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3716948.

There is a large clump of mature Giant Hogweed in growing in the central reservation just north of junction 6 of the M61. It is an invasive plant species and can cause severe burns if touched. The huge stalks and flower heads are also a potential distraction for drivers. The plants must have been growing up for a couple of years as they are now flowering in summer.
