Tall vegetation in the highway visibility splay is rather seriously impeding highway users vision

Reported via desktop in the Vegetation (grass/hedges/trees) (NH) category anonymously at 21:29, Thu 28 July 2022

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3714787.

Hello

The tall vegetation that have gradually grown in the highway visibility splay, at this roundabout junction location, is now beginning to seriously interfere with the actual vision of almost all highway users.

As, in my considered opinion, this tall impeding vegetation now actually constitutes a rather serious highway safety issue, I would, therefore, be most obliged it could be please cut, or strimmed, as soon as possible.

Thanking yourselves in advance for your anticipated favourable response to this request.

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting National Highways regarding vegetation on the A14 roundabout in Ipswich. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention.

We carry out regular inspections of our roads and cut back trees and vegetation where we find that it’s limiting visibility of road signs, traffic signals, at junctions or the view ahead. I’ve passed your observations to our maintenance team. They will inspect the area and if necessary, arrange for vegetation to be cut.

Thank you again for contacting us. If you need more information about this, please feel free to contact our Customer Contact Centre on 0300 123 500 or by email at info@nationalhighways.co.uk.

    Kind regards
