Speed camera flashing below speed limit
Reported via mobile in the Sign issue (NH) category anonymously at 18:05, Thu 28 July 2022
Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3714416.
I was on the motorway. Heading towards jct 18 of m62 heading to simister island to swap on the the m66 towards bury just before 4pm today. The variable speed limit changed to 60 and then the next changed to 50 as i was approaching the slip road to simister island. The person in front of me was flashed by the speed camera so i immediately checked my speed and i was below 50 but i went through and it flashed me. It also flashed the person in a van behind me. I definitely wasn't speeding as id reduced my speed to the new limit of 50 so it has to be faulty

This happened to me on the M25 near junction 18. The signals were displaying 60mph, I was doing 55mph, was flashed and fined. It took months of disputing, I lost, and had to pay and get 3 points. Nobody wins other than the police

It did 3 people in a row that i saw before it went out of my rear mirror. Theres no chance they were all speeding. I definitely wasnt. I mean, what are the chances of that. I had my child, my sisters and friends kids with me and its not worth the risk. I will be very upset if i get ticketed when i honestly was following the correct speed limit. I noted the car infront and checked it. Its silly. I dont have a dash cam either! Its 1000% faulty.

12.06.2023 around 8 o'clock. Variable speed cameras junction 27 -26. Gantry showing speed limit set to 50mph. Received NIP for allegation of exceeding speed limit. Vehicle recorded at 48mph. National Highways helpline said there was no faults recorded on the cameras or gantry signs. So please explain how we can be reported for speeding at 48mph in a 50 mph zone if the technology is apparently working within the "correct" perimeters. And why, if these cameras are owned and operated by National Highways, is the evidence not checked prior to issuing NIPs on behalf of the police.
