M56 East Bound Marker Post 42/2 fluid leeching across Hardshoulder & L1

Reported via desktop in the Flooding/drainage (NH) category anonymously at 18:39, Mon 25 July 2022

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3706062.

There has been fluid permanently leeching from the nearside verge at the above location for some considerable time now including during very dry conditions. The last time this happened was due to a leak on the United Utilities main foul pipe line that runs under the M56 at this location from the pumping station on Halton Station Rd Runcorn. I know of this issue as I was a Highway Supervisor on A10 at that time. My concern is that the pipeline may be compromised again and apart from fluid on the highway the issue of undermining the embankment being possible. I would respectfully suggest that National Highways contact United Utilities to arrange inspection of the pipe line.
