Confusion with traffic management

Reported via mobile in the Road markings (NH) category anonymously at 18:27, Mon 25 July 2022

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3706027.

Entering the off-slip of the M27 westbound at Segensworth heading into Whiteley. The road sign says that it has 3 lanes and only 1 to turn right to Whiteley. Traffic is still using the outside lane which leads to the M27 on-slip to Southampton still to turn right to Whiteley which they have done until the change in markings. This will cause congestion and accidents if this is not addressed as soon as possible!!!

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting National Highways regarding changes in road markings causing traffic issues.

There's currently a scheme ongoing by Hampshire County Council in this area that involves changing the road markings, and we've contacted them regarding your query. They have suggested that you contact stuart.jarvis@hants.gov.uk to share your concerns and learn more about this scheme.

    Kind regards,

    National Highways
