M5 Southbound between 6 & 7

Reported via mobile in the Road markings (NH) category anonymously at 13:35, Fri 22 July 2022

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3698515.

We’ve just had a near miss with the outside Lane merging into the middle where the road works start. It isn’t apparent that the Lane will end until you’re actually on it. Signage isn’t that clear to allow users to merge into a clear lane and therefore it is as though you have to give way. I think a bit of a revaluation is needed for the sake of safety. Thanks.

  • Thank you for your report about the near miss you experienced.

We have raised this with our inspectors to be investigated at the first possible opportunity.

This will be reviewed by our inspector to determine whether remedial work is required to make the area safe.
