House Shaking

Reported via mobile in the Structures (eg bridges, fencing, noise barriers) (NH) category anonymously at 09:16, Fri 22 July 2022

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3697463.

I wish to report tremblings and shakes are being felt in Claremont Ave Gu15 2DR in Camberley which is a road close to M3 motorway between junction 3 and 4. These shakes are due to uneven surface of the motorway London bound close to emergency stop lay-by or manhole covers in the same area. I would urge you to investigate and rectify these immediately to avoid further damage to the road and properties around Claremont Ave.

Updates

  • Thank you for your report concerning vibrations on the M3.

We’re aware of the surfacing issue in this area, and have received a large amount of correspondence from residents in this area. We're using these reports to identify areas to prioritise for an emergency resurfacing scheme which will be completed in the next 4-8 weeks, pending funding. Thank you for your report and assistance in planning this project.

    Kind regards

  • Thank you for your input regarding the M3 vibration issue. Thanks to reports from many residents including yourself, we have identified the issue and have implemented a Lane 1 closure on the M3 between Junctions 3 and 4 to minimise damage.

Furthermore, we have planned to fully resurface this road to eliminate the uneven ground which is causing the issue. Hopefully this should solve the problem and prevent any further distress or damage. This resurfacing is currently due to happen this weekend, 30 July-31 July, however if we encounter unexpected issues, it may be delayed to the following weekend. The closure will remain in place for as long as is necessary.

We thank you for your patience and we hope this project will provide the necessary solution. Please feel free to get back in contact if the problem persists.

    Kind regards

    National Highways
