Very dangerous turning onto dual carraigeway
Reported via mobile in the Road markings (NH) category anonymously at 12:29, Fri 15 July 2022
Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3678832.
Extreamly dangerous turning having to cross a busy dual carriage from a stopped position turning right. An accident waiting to happen. There should be traffic lights or something as trying to find a gap between cars doing 70mph is lethal

Thank you for contacting National Highways concerning the safety of the junction on the A30.
This location was subject of the gap at this junction being closed many years ago and a grade separated junction provided for Tedburn St. Mary & Pathfinder Village. Unfortunately, local people appealed against this decision, and it was taken to the Appeals Court, where they won, and the scheme was abandoned. The location of the speed camera on the eastbound carriageway has assisted in the reduction of collisions in this vicinity and upon checking there have only been three injury collisions between January 2012 & June 2021 The installation of traffic signals would not be an option on this high-speed dual carriageway and the possibility of this gap being closed is doubtful, owing to the appeal court decision.
