Litter not removed breaking law

  • Thank you for your report concerning the litter on the M6.

    This has been passed to our local inspector to inspect this and report this to local depot, so they can plan in litter clearance work.

    Our litter picking is carefully planned, along with all of our maintenance, to try to minimise the impact it has on road users and ensure that it is cost effective to the public. Picks often require traffic management measures, which are both costly and disruptive. To help reduce the need for these measures, we usually combine our litter picks with other maintenance work.

    They'll be continuing to look for opportunities to schedule picks along the M6, as our schedule of maintenance and safety critical works allow. I am sorry that I’m not able to give you a date for this work at this time.
