Speed limit sign appears broken

Reported via mobile in the Sign issue (NH) category anonymously at 06:11, Thu 14 July 2022

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3675026.

The electronic speed limit sign at the beginning if the M42 Junction 3 slip road has been set at 40mph now for over a week for no reason - if you travel straight along the M42 from Junction 2 to 4 there is no reduced limit on the motorway, and there is no end to the 40mph once on the motorway after joining at junction 3. It would therefore appear that there is an issue with the sign

Updates

  • Thank you for your report about this speed sign.

We have raised this with our inspectors to be investigated at the first possible opportunity.

Our inspector will review this and determine whether remedial work is required to make the area safe for the travelling public. If immediate work is not required this will be actioned as part of our routine maintenance schedule.

Although we always try to respond to these reports in the quickest time possible, we would ask that anything of a safety critical nature be raised with our Customer Contact Centre directly. They are available 24 hours a day, on 0300 123 5000. This will ensure we process any such report as soon as it is received.

    Kind regards,

    National Highways
