When sat at traffic lights coming from Wychbold on A38 the left hand lane is meant to be for straight on only, however the road markings encourage drivers to turn right to go up motorway slip road from left lane thus colliding into anything in the outside lane...numerous accidents over and over again, including serious injuries and deaths . I have done a freedom of information request to find out exactly how many accidents have happened here waiting for the statistics but it is loads...including myself ended up with 5 broken bones as a driver turned right there it needs much clearer markings and the curved line removing

Thank you for your report concerning the road markings in this area.
I have checked the markings for this junction. There is a dedicated lane for traffic wanting to go onto the M5, vehicles do not need to change lanes. I believe this is a driver behaviour issue and not something we can control. Any dangerous driving should be reported to the police to look into.
Currently this isn’t causing any safety concerns, we will continue to monitor this and will arrange any required work if the situation changes.
