Absence of noise barrier or other mitigation

Residents close to the stretch of the A27 between the Havant and Emsworth interchanges suffer excessive road noise that seems to be getting worse. This location is in an NIA but no measures have been taken recently to mitigate the noise pollution.

    We are unlikely to provide specific noise mitigation measures, such as noise barriers, in the near future. However, we are working to minimise noise emissions using low noise surfacing as our standard surface. This will be done in the area during the next resurfacing scheme, which is currently in design to be carried out during 2022/23. We're unable to confirm the construction date at this time, though once finalised details will be made available on our website:
