Confusing speed limit signs

Reported via mobile in the Roadworks (NH) category anonymously at 16:23, Sun 26 June 2022

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3624446.

Where the road works are coming out of Stockton on A66(w) the 50 signs are still up but the national speed limit signs are also uncovered. This made for a very confusing trip and we drove at 50 but a lot of people were clearly doing 70.

Updates

  • Thank you for contacting National Highways concerning a confusion between speed limit signs on the A66.

We have investigated and found that one of our sub-contractors were in that location over the weekend to repair the vehicle restraint system (VRS).

They removed their traffic management on Sunday so the issue has now been resolved. We will raise the problem of speed signs with them for future reference.

Thank you again for contacting us regarding this issue.

    Kind regards

    National Highways
