Excessive and increased noise pollution

I am writing to see if you can help to reduce the traffic noise that we and our neighbours can now hear at our properties. Noise, we presume from the M2, is a constant drone while we are in our garden or have the doors/windows open. We have lived at our house for over 20 years without this being an issue. We appreciate that a lot of trees came down in the snow and recent high winds; there has also been a large amount of trees removed to accommodate the ‘yard’ opposite Beechen Hall and adjacent to the motorway; the new development of Forge Park has resulted in a loss of vegetation and a row of trees in the verge along Beechen Bank, next to the back gardens of Travertine have been cut. We are wondering if there are other recent changes that could have increased the noise pollution. We would like to hear from you concerning this and what you propose can be done to attenuate the noise.
