Pedestrian crossing Manchester Road Tintwistle

Reported via mobile in the Traffic lights (NH) category anonymously at 09:05, Fri 24 June 2022

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3619734.

This is an ongoing problem. These lights favour the traffic. This morning I was stood waiting for the lights for almost 10 minutes so I could get my daughter to school. This risks children dashing across in to oncoming traffic due to fears they will be late. These lights only change when the traffic is clear which kind of defeats the purpose of them.

Updates

  • Thank you for your patience whilst our Maintenance team looked into the issue. Although there was no particular fault found with the lights and they’re operating as designed, there could be a possible issue with the sensors not picking up pedestrians due to a narrow path. As a result we have decided to return to carry out a permanent fix. Unfortunately I don't currently have a date for this work to be carried out. If you require any further update on this issue our Customer Contact Centre is available 24 hours a day at: • 0300 123 5000
