Temporary Speed limit A1307 Huntingdon

Reported via desktop in the Roadworks (NH) category anonymously at 15:55, Wednesday 22 June 2022

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later

Previous reports stated that the temporary 40 MPH limit was in place due to barrier repairs that were to be completed in March 2022. These have clearly not been started. The limit was temporarily lifted and then has been reinstated. A normal A road under national speed limit is 60 MPH and has no central reservation so this 40 MPH limit is excessive and needless. All it does is create a much larger speed difference between drivers that ignore it and others that abide by it. This makes the road far less safe than it would be under a 60 or 70 MPH conditions.
