Reported via desktop in the Road surface (NH) category anonymously at 21:11, Wed 8 June 2022

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3582129.

Don't understand why your crews haven't seen this. Westbound carriageway is subsiding, and now has a step in the road parallel to the hedge and bank.

  • Thank you for your report concerning worn road surfaces on the A31.

We’re aware of the condition of this road. We currently have it scheduled to be repaired permanently in the next 28 days, and for the time being this stretch of road is monitored daily and any safety critical issues logged for 24-hour temporary repairs. In addition, we have three uneven road surface signs erected in order to warn road users of the issue.

    Kind regards

    National Highways

  • It’s ridiculous it is taking so long I’ve reported this on a number of occasions and to take a further 28 days before repair is madness. If a motorcyclist hits this in the dark at night they will be killed highways England will be responsible.
