Central reservation vegetation obstructing view of traffic coming round roundabout

Reported via desktop in the Vegetation (grass/hedges/trees) (NH) category anonymously at 21:00, Wed 8 June 2022

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3582101.

Every roundabout on the A31 from St Leonards to Ferndown bypass has tall weeds and grass obscuring the view of traffic coming round the roundabout. Traffic using the A31 cannot see the roundabout until they have actually reached the junction. Perhaps lay a wide concrete strip to prevent the grass and weeds from obstructing this vital view

  • Thank you for your report concerning the tall weeds and grass obscuring the view of traffic on the A31 roundabouts.

We can confirm the vegetation will be cut back and this should be completed by the end of next week.

  • The public pavements from the boundary lane roundabout through to the david phipps roundabout heading towards tricketts cross are all dangerously overgrown there is Not enough room for pedestriaons and cycleists together on this pathway, hedges are overgrown, bracken etc this needs to be sorted asap. Also the speed of vehicals needs to be monitored they seem to be going faster than 50mph. Thank you hopefully we will see an improvement.
