The roundabout on A23 / A2300 junction

Reported via desktop in the Road markings (NH) category anonymously at 07:41, Wed 8 June 2022

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3579625.

The A2300 has be dualled to feed into the roundabout on the eastern side of the A23. The road going across the A23 to take traffic to Hickstead and northbound A23 has a tight entrance off the roundabout and you now have two lanes of traffic fighting to get across which has led to a number of accidents and near misses already. it is very dangerous as according to the highway code both lanes have right of way and the bridge road over the A23 was never designed to take this type of traffic. Either the bridge will need to be modifies or the lanes coming off the A2300 will need to be changed to allow only one lane across the roundabout onto the bridge.
