Road markings appear to be dangerous

When heading south onto to A1 from the M18 traffic markings on the road make vehicles cut across the nearside lane to exit onto the M18 east. In my opinion the nearside lane should feed only the M18 eastbound or the A1 south where as the inside lane should be only for the A1 south or the M18 westbound.
