A12 overnight roadworks and closure at colchester

You shut the road everynight till july 19 on A12 at colchester, Our journey from Dagenham to our home at ipswich last night (may26 2022) should have taken just under two hours but the road closure of A12 at colchester made that journey THREE plus hours. Your signage in colchester was misleading and not clear. We seen a group of drivers looking at a map at midnight lost like we were, plus two speed cameras i missed on one of my early laps of colchester centre. If i was over the 30mph i aint paying...SORT THIS SIGNAGE OUT ASAP MAKE THE ROUTE BACK TO IPSWICH CLEAR, CANNOT BELIEVE NINE MILES OF ROAD WORKS CLOSES THE A12 COMPLETELY FOR 20 MILES HAVING TO USE THE A137 TO GET BACK TO IPSWICH....SORT IT OUT

    The works at A12 include barrier replacement, drainage renewal, resurfacing, road studs, road lining placement and other safety improvements. The work is essential, which will contribute to the life expectancy of the road and make journeys safer for road users.

    The closures are used to carry out as much work as possible, which will prevent the need for further closures, in the near future.
