Grass too long, cannot see oncoming cars.

  • Thank you for contacting National Highways, regarding overgrown vegetation on the A26 junction with Avis Road. Thank you for getting in touch to raise your concerns for this location. I can understand your safety concerns, please be assured that the safety of all road users is paramount. I can confirm that Kier our maintenance contractor will be carrying out planned maintenance along this stretch of the A26 on the 9 June and 10 June 2022, when they’ll be carrying out cyclic maintenance, including works such as vegetation cutting and other safety works, when any vegetation growth will be attended to. We’ll continue to inspect the A26 during our safety inspections, when any defects are recorded, and suitable mitigation carried out. Kind regards
