We have a big problem with speeding traffic through the village
Reported via desktop in the Sign issue (NH) category anonymously at 16:39, Thu 19 May 2022
Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3537514.
Currently we have a sign which lights up when drivers are exceeding 30mph. With 5 new properties on the west of the A36 in the village, exiting from Laverton Lane and Lullington Lane is a big problem. We feel that another electric sign at the south entrance to the village help a lot. This speeding has been an issue for at least 10 years and is getting worse.

Thank you for your report concerning speeding through the village of Woolverton. We're sorry to hear about the concern this is causing.
We're not an enforcement agency, speeding concerns will need to be reported to the local police
In terms of an additional electric sign at the South entrance to the village, it is unlikely we can take this forward as a safety improvement scheme. Following from our last study in Woolverton, which resulted in the installation of red surfacing along the village and a Vehicle Activated Sign, the scheme was successful in reducing collision numbers in the village. There are no recent collisions (within the last 5 years) in the village.
We understand this will be disappointing, however with no data to suggest a need, we're unable to justify any additional intervention. It's vital we spend our funds on locations that demonstrate a need for safety improvements.
We'd suggest contacting the police with regards the speeding vehicles.
