M27 eastbound merging with m275

Reported via mobile in the Road markings (NH) category anonymously at 16:52, Sat 7 May 2022

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3508638.

M27 ( two lane east) merges with m275 (two lane east) producing one three lane motorway m27. Very dangerous as we didn't see any obvious sign saying our outside lane on m27 disappears as it is merged with traffic from the m275 from the right hand side. If there is signage for this merge it needs reemphasing , luckily no incident occurred.

Updates

  • Thank you for your report concerning signage of the eastbound merge between the M27 and M275.

Our Signs team have reviewed your concerns and have reaffirmed that there are two large signs signalling the merge 350 yards prior on either side of the road, so one can be seen from any position on the carriageway. The Team have determined no more signage is necessary in this area. If you require any further update on this issue our Customer Contact Centre is available 24 hours a day at:
