Phasing issue of traffic lights

Reported via mobile in the Traffic lights (NH) category anonymously at 17:50, Tue 26 April 2022

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3484715.

The traffic lights on Tinsley roundabout, Sheffield are severely out of sequence, the queues coming from the motorway Northbound are horrendous due to this issue, you come off at J34 northbound and get thru the slip road lights for the next lights to change after letting 3 maybe 4 cars thru, as you progress round the roundabout this phasing issue repeats on all 6 junctions, therefore this continually blocks the exits from the other routes meaning when they go green they can’t progress due to blocking traffic, this has been an issue now for 6 weeks and is getting progressively worse week by week as the phasing seems to be getting further out of sequence

Updates

  • The traffic lights on Tinsley roundabout, Sheffield are still out of sequence. The northbound traffic exiting the M1 slip road at junction 33 are now held at the lights on the roundabout at the junction of Sheffield road instead of being able to flow around the roundabout. The consequence of this causes the traffic trying to entry the roundabout from Shepcote lane now being able to due to the motorway traffic blocking the path. This has been an issue now for around 10 weeks and is getting progressively worse week by week as the phasing seems to be getting further out of sequence.
