Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3468301.
The traffic lights at County Square, Ulverston outside the Coronation Hall recently weren't working, since they have been repaired the timing is very short between going from green to red, less than 10 seconds, which is causing people to go through red lights, which could lead to accidents on the A590

Traffic lights north to south are still very short timed - between 5 and 10 secs when travelling from either County Square or Victoria Road.

Can you advise why the traffic light timings on the A590 at Queen Street/Princess Street and County Square/Victoria road have been shortened to make it difficult for vehicles to cross the A590? I cycle across and rarely have sufficient time to cross if I am behind a car. Bus drivers are also finding it difficult to turn right from County Square heading West towards Barrow. There are also difficulties crossing from the new business hub/Blue Hub site.

The pedestrian lights on the County Road crossing by the Coronation Hall do not allow enough time to cross, I am quite fit and just in so make it but someone less able would struggle. There is also a gentleman with a Zimmer frame that crosses regularly as his bus route stops at the Kiosk so has to cross the main road. He is going to get run over one day soon as I witnessed a near accident on Saturday where a car turning left from the County Road had to emergency brake. It is not safe, now moving into winter the conditions are worsening so I hope you will look at this at the earliest opportunity. Thank you.
