Confusing lane markings
Reported via mobile in the Road markings (NH) category anonymously at 09:54, Sat 16 April 2022
Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3462433.
On the west bound exit slip road, all 3 lanes are marked up to turn right onto the A419, but the way the lanes are marked out on the roundabout itself make it very confusing, and almost every time I use the left hand lane to turn right, the vehicle in the middle lane will cross into the left lane. I believe this is due to the way the lanes have been marked out, and they should be made clearer. As an LGV driver, I use this junction a lot and from my raised driving position I can make out the lanes, but when in a car the lanes are less clear. I have had many near misses on this junction because of this issue, I’m sure it’s only a matter of time before there’s an accident.
