Report received from member of the public regarding your site site reference number HA2019/J as below:
Traffic lights have not been working for some time now and there appears to be damaged infrastructure/ control equipment on the central reservation on Great Western Way as you come onto the roundabout from Swindon. Highways say they are not responsible, SBC say it's not down to them and all the while motorists are put at risk on what is usually a very busy junction. Regardless of who is responsible in law SBC and Highways have a duty of care to the safety of everyone using this junction. These lights need fixing ASAP before someone gets hurt or killed. Thank you for contacting National Highways concerning the traffic lights.
The lights were damaged considerably in a road traffic collision resulting in the replacement of all the damaged equipment, cabinet and associated cables which were ripped out of the control cabinet and from the ground. We were waiting for a vital piece of the equipment which is being delivered this week. We’ll be on site on 26 April, barring any unforeseen circumstances. The work should take approximately 2 days.
If you require any further information please contact our Customer Contact Centre on 0300 123 5000 or info@nationalhighways.co.uk.
