This is the third report regarding this defect . The pedestrian safety fence alongside the footway on the Eastbound A14 just East of the Orwell bridge has at last had the missing pieces installed but even when driving past at 50 miles per hour it is obvious that it has not been fully completed as both vertical and horizontal alignment are wavy lines . I would question if it was carried out by an experienced contractor and if so how it was approved by the Highways Agency inspector . Please arrange for this work to be completed properly .
Thank you for contacting National Highways regarding the pedestrian safety fence alongside the footway on the Eastbound A14 East of the Orwell bridge. We appreciate your concern in this matter.
We can confirm that the repair has been fully completed within the dedicated tolerance allowed, we understand that the fence is not perfectly straight but the straightness of the fence doesn't impact on pedestrian safety and we can confirm that the fence is fit for purpose.
Thank you again for contacting us. If you need more information about this, please feel free to contact our Customer Contact Centre on 0300 123 500 or by email at email@example.com.
