Diversion not working

Reported via desktop in the Roadworks (NH) category anonymously at 21:58, Mon 4 April 2022

Sent to National Highways less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3437720.

With the ongoing A14 evening and overnight roadwork closures between junction 47 and 49 ongoing for the last several weeks and into the future, the heavy A14 traffic is continuing to utilise a sneaky shortcut through Haughley New Street instead of the advised diversion. The continuous stream of heavy clunking HGVs are rattling through all evening and through the night are keeping everyone awake and causing serious vibration damage to listed properties fronting onto Haughley New Street and Wetherden. Not to mention they are speeding too. This is a residential villages with a 30mph limit ungraded roads and not built or designed for heavy continuous trunk road traffic. The diversion needs to be properly enforced and managed as this can not continue to allow such traffic through Haughley New Street and Wetherden. Please do something to avoid claims for property damage through detrimental traffic vibration and before a serious collision occurs. Thanks.
